About Me

I am a member of the Romance Writers of America (RWA) as well as the local San Francisco Area - RWA Chapter. Since I write romantic suspense stories, I joined another Madelyn's Picture RWA Chapter called Kiss of Death (KOD) Chapter. As the title implies, members write mysteries, thrillers, and suspense. I am also a member of two other RWA chapters: Futuristic, Fantasy, & Paranormal (FF&P) Chapter and From the Heart Romance Writers (FTHRW) Chapter .

If you live in the Bay Area and you are interested in writing, come to one of the San Francisco Chapter's monthly meetings. We meet every second Saturday in the East Bay. Each meeting a guest speaker will provide information to help you improve your writing and to learn about the world of publishing. All guests are welcome.

When I am not writing or plotting my next book or thinking "what ifs" for a possible story line, I enjoy the San Francisco foggy weather; savor the many ethnic cuisines, and, of course, reading.

About My Writing

Frustration led to me to writing. I enjoyed reading as early as grade school. But I wasn't always satisfied with the ending. Then I started daydreaming - wondering what if that that character had done that or chose to do that instead? The constant stream of "what ifs" started me down a path toward creating my own stories.

I wrote my first story when I was in seventh grade. The story was called "The Star Child", a fantasy, and from time-to-time I pick it up to read it again. As I read that story, I try not to stumble over my constantly shifting verb tenses and other craft issues that I won't mention here. After that writing assignment, I was hooked. I had to write because I learned that I could write.

Now, I enjoy the challenge of writing romance stories - stories of characters you want to meet; characters you want to support as they face one conflict after another; characters you want to succeed together. And for me, that is romance. Watching the the hero and heroine become better, stronger people as they fall in love with one another.

My Next Steps

I could have decided to write my stories and to stop right there. But I needed to take the next step - of actually sharing my work with others. I wanted to share my stories with others in the hope of providing entertaining, humorous, and thought- provoking stories. Thus, I have decided to take the journey toward publication. Check back often and join me as I deal with one bump or another on this road.
